Many Internet users seek out pictures of the places where they grew up, but are unlikely to think of visiting transport sites, let alone one dealing with trolleybuses! We would like as many people as possible to discover this web site to learn how drastically the Uxbridge Road corridor will change if the tram scheme is constructed.

This small selection of colour pictures from the past is incorporated into this web site to trap surfers who will perhaps explore other pages to be found here. All of the pictures were taken in the early 1960's and are the work of a number of photographers.

Picture 717 Travelling eastwards in King Street, Hammersmith just before the left turn into Studland Street into the one-way system. This scene is very little changed today apart from lack of trolleybuses! Picture 085 Crossing main part of Ealing Common, travelling eastbound towards Hanger Lane Junction. Little has changed today apart from the demise of trolleys and eastbound bus lane added.	Picture LTM 39 A Q type [#1768 preserved by LT] passing the Odeon cinema in Uxbridge in 1960. Unfortunately, the cinema wasn't preserved! Nice collection of 60s vehicles. Note the cycle path, which was a feature of many roads out of London. Sadly most disappeared in road widening's in the 60s and 70s. Note the cute lamp on the pole! Picture TR70 The famous Iron Bridge at Southall over the Uxbridge Road, looking east. The cars are turning into Greenford Road. Under the bridge, Southall Garage [HW] is a short way on the left and the AEC works are just up the road to the right, as of course the sign says. Picture N15A Very few London trolleybuses were preserved and those that survive today are scattered far and wide. However one example that plied on Route 607 can be found [November 2005] at the London Transport Museum at Acton. In 2000 it was caught on camera while on loan to the East Anglia Transport Museum where it was possible to sample a ride on the vehicle. More trolleybus pictures in other parts of London.
